BANGOR — Jake LaChance singled to drive home the winning run in the eighth inning Friday as Cony of Augusta topped Bangor 5-4 for the Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference Class A baseball championship at Mansfield Stadium.
Nick Lucas, Corey Lapierre and Colin McKee each hit an RBI single for Cony.
Nate Lewis knocked in three of Bangor’s runs on a double and a single.
Both teams begin the Eastern Maine playoffs this week with Bangor hosting Messalonskee on Wednesday and Cony hosting Edward Little of Auburn on Thursday.
