LEWISTON – Cecile W. Doustou, 91, died peacefully Sunday, June 6, 2010, surrounded by her sister, nieces and nephews at Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center after a brief illness. She was born April 14, 1919, in Fort Kent, the daughter of Felix and Flavie (Saucier) Dumond. She married David Doustou July 11, 1938. They were married for 56 years until his passing, Dec. 27, 1994. She lived most of her life in Fort Kent and Soldier Pond, until the floods of 2008 when she relocated to Lewiston to live with her sister. She was a member of Fort Kent Senior Citizens, Ladies of St. Anne, Soldier Pond, and later Fort Kent, and Catholic Order of Foresters. She did volunteer work in her community. She is survived by one son, Herbert Doustou and his wife, Jean, of Plainville, Conn.; three grandchildren, Pamela Riskis of Deerfield, Fla., David Doustou of Ward, Mass., and Carrie Pelletier of Danielson, Conn.; four great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandson; one sister, Emily Ouellette of Lewiston; four sisters-in-law, Annette Lapointe and Mary Ann Albert of Connecticut, Maime Daigle of Millinocket and Adrienne Daigle of Fort Kent; many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents; her husband, David; four brothers, Hypolite, Edmond, Aurelle and Elbridge “Pat” Dumond; and four sisters, Maime Dubois, Lydie Pelletier, Hattie Roy and Clothilde Marie Theriault. The family thanks the staff of Russell Park Rehabilitation and Living Center and Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate care and attention to her comfort during her illness. A memorial Mass will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Holy Family Church, Lewiston. Friends may call 8-9:30 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at Daigle Funeral Home, Fort Kent. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Soldier Pond. Committal services will be afterward at Sacred Heart Cemetery.
