FAIRFIELD and PENOBSCOT – Robert “Bob” S. Fairweather, 77, died Feb. 17, 2010, in Clearwater, Fla. He was born Feb. 10, 1933, in Winn, son of the late Stanley Perry and Marguerite (Devereux) Fairweather. Bob attended elementary school in Oakland, White River Junction, Vt., and Penobscot. He graduated from Bucksport High School in 1951 and received his Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Maine in 1955. He was married to Cynthia (McCoy) Fairweather for 58 years. Bob experienced several occupations during his lifetime, St. Regis, Chemetron, Ralston Purina and W.T. Grants, where he was successfully employed and made many lifelong friends. He admired his students and was sincerely delighted when they became successful adults. Bob was an avid reader, talented artist and always had a quick wit. He enjoyed gardening and spent many years lobstering on the Penobscot Bay. In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Susan and William Gilman of Oakland, Robert S. Fairweather Jr. of Penobscot, Patricia and M. Stanley Buchanan of Carmel and Mary and Edgar Fowler of Oakland.
