GARLAND – Ruby M. Towle, 94, died June 7, 2010, at her Oliver Hill Road residence. She was born Aug. 19, 1915, in Veazie, the youngest daughter of Fred and Eva May (Fisher) Avery. She graduated from N.H. Fay High School, Class of 1933, and worked for many years at Dumbarton Woolen Mill, Dexter. She was a life member of Joseph R. Sanford Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 3198 Ladies Auxiliary and held all offices, including president and chaplain of District 5. She joined the Grange when she was 15 and was an 80-year member of Ripley Grange. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy; her only child, Mary Jane; and two sisters. Ruby is survived by one grandson, Roy Kennedy; as well as nieces, nephews and cousins. At her request, there will be no services. Private interment will be at Maine Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Augusta.
