BANGOR, Maine — James Parker defeated William Davis Osmer in the Republican primary for House District 18, which includes part of Bangor, the town of Veazie and part of Orono.
Bangor voters favored Osmer with 276 votes to 148 for Parker, but in Veazie, Parker received 206 votes compared with 26 for Osmer.
Orono residents cast 28 votes for Osmer and 26 for Parker.
The House District 18 seat is held by Democrat Jim Martin, who ran unopposed in the primary.
