PRESQUE ISLE, Maine — The Presque Isle Police Department is looking for two suspects who officers believe are behind a burglary at a city business.
The case originated early Tuesday morning when a caller reported suspicious activity in the area of the railroad tracks behind Elm Street, according to Police Chief Naldo Gagnon.
Police arrived at about 4:30 a.m. and saw several individuals on the tracks who fled on foot when they saw the officers.
Gagnon said officers recovered three new dirt bikes that were left on the track. They had a combined value of about $16,000 and had been stolen from Harry’s Motor Sports, he said.
A 16-year-old male was immediately apprehended in the vicinity and taken into custody, the chief said Wednesday. His name is not being released because he is a juvenile.
He was later arrested for felony Class B theft and taken to the Aroostook County Jail pending his court appearance.
Officers later arrested Troy J. Soucy Jr., 18, and also charged him with felony Class B theft for his involvement. He also was charged with misdemeanor domestic assault for an incident over the weekend, police said. Soucy was released on bail pending his initial court appearance. The Class B offense is punishable by up to 10 years in jail and a $20,000 fine.
Police are still looking for 32-year-old Philip H. Chasse and Robert L. Fitzsimmons, 27, Gagnon said.
Chasse and Fitzsimmons are facing felony Class B theft charges as well, he said.
