ASHLAND and POLAND SPRINGS – Helen C. Beaulieu, 81, died peacefully June 8, 2010, at Hospice House, Auburn, with her daughter, Cheri, by her side. She was born Aug. 25, 1928, at Portage Lake, the daughter of Hershel and Ida (McNally) Currie. Helen was extremely active in her community as a member of RSVP, Ashland Area Senior Citizens, Ashland Food Pantry and Good Shepherd Food Pantry. She also served as registrar of voters for the town of Ashland for 25 years. Helen will be remembered by all as a wonderful caring lady and will be missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her six children and their spouses, Darrell and Jane Beaulieu of Bucksport, Cheryl and Sheldon Nightingale of Poland Springs, Tim and Clara Beaulieu of Holden, Cathy Bishop of Waterville, Cindy and the Rev. Donald Morton Jr. of Masardis, and Peter and Sherry Beaulieu of Lincolnville; two sisters, Janice and Herman Whitesall of Bethlehem, Pa., and Carolynne MacDonald of Lamoine; 15 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 55 years, Maxime Beaulieu, in 2003; a sister, Joyce Bernard; and a son-in-law, Keith Bishop. Relatives and friends may call 10 a.m. until time of service Monday at St. Mark Catholic Church, Allen Farm Road, Ashland, where a funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Monday with the Very Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie, celebrant. Committal service and interment will be at the parish cemetery. Those who wish may contribute in her memory to Androscoggin Hospice of Auburn or Ashland Area Senior Citizens.
