HUDSON – Norman A. Millett Sr., passed away peacefully June 7, 2010, surrounded by his loved ones at his home, after a long battle with cancer. He was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Portland, to Ralph and Mary Gagne Millett. He lived in the Bangor area most of his life and worked many years for Irving Buchanan Millwrights. He enjoyed fishing, horseshoes, fiddleheading and later in life, teaching and playing cribbage with his grandchildren. He is survived by his companion and fiancee of 29 years, Sandra Peirce; his daughter, Diane Kelley of Arlington, Texas; sons, Norman Millett Jr. of Waterville, James Millett of Kenduskeag and Thomas Millett of Corinth; stepchildren, Angela Rouelle of Vermont, Susan McEwen of Bangor, Dana Peirce of Glenburn and Duane Peirce Jr. of Virginia. Also surviving are brothers, Everett Millett of Portland, Theodore Millett and Alfred Millett of North Carolina, Ronald Brown of Ohio, David and Seldon Brown of Leeds, and Stanley Brown of Livermore; sisters, Helena Ann Bond and Linda Newman of Livermore, and Shirley Ouellette of Jay; also a special cousin who was like a brother, Mike Lemoge of Texas. He was predeceased by his parents; and brothers, Ralph Millett Sr. and Guilford Brown. The family thanks Sandy and Tom for their wonderful care of Norman in his final days. Graveside services will be held at a later date at Waugh Cemetery, Levant, with Pastor Barry Buzzell officiating.
