LAMOINE – Richard James King, 67, died unexpectedly June 14, 2010, at his residence. He was born May 14, 1943, in Ellsworth, the son of Leonard E. and Marjorie V. (Conary) King. Richard attended school in Trenton and graduated from Ellsworth High School. He attended Husson College for one year studying business administration. He was a builder and dealer of Katahdin Log Homes as well as owner of Richard J. King, Inc. General Contractor for more than 38 years. He loved boating and being out on the water. He was a member of Ellsworth Garden Club and past member of Ellsworth Lions Club and Frenchman’s Bay Snowmobile Club. Richard loved doing anything to help kids, from his spectacular and memorable lighting displays at Christmas to building the ball field for Lamoine Consolidated School. He is survived by his mother, Marjorie King; daughters, Vicki King, Juli Rae and husband, Donald, Shawna King and husband, Justin Manning, and Melissa Burkart and husband, Grey; grandchildren, Rachel Rae, Sydnee Rae and Jordan King; brothers, Robert, Brian, Neil and Larry King; sisters, Barbara Buchanan, Janet Butler, Linda Jordan, Susan Pease, Pamela Davis, Naomi Turcotte and Rebecca Cozzens; many nieces and nephews. Calling hours will be held 3-5 p.m. Thursday, June 17, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Friday, June 18.
