HOLDEN – Dr. Ellen Ann Howard, D.C., 60, passed away June 14, 2010, at her home. She was born Sept. 5, 1949, in Bangor, the daughter of Paul A. Howard and Evelyn Lyn Katherine (Kimball) Howard. Ellen graduated from Hampden Academy in 1967, the University of Maine, Orono, in 1973, and Logan Chiropractic College. Ellen was an avid skier and golfer from childhood, and called Sugarloaf Mountain her second home for nearly 40 years. She also maintained her parents’ condo in Englewood, Fla. Dr. Howard held a profound passion for her profession, and believed steadfastly in chiropractic care, acupuncture and the ancient arts of healing. She helped to further those fields in Maine from the early 1980s, and remained loyal, helpful and giving to her alma maters and Maine Chiropractic Association throughout her career. Her interests included a love of animals, writing and baking cakes.
