COLUMBUS, Ga. – Sgt. 1st Class Clarence Raymond Davis, retired, 84, died Tuesday, June 15, 2010, at Morningside Assisted Living. Sgt. 1st Class Davis, retired, was born Sept. 13, 1925, in Stockholm, to the late Robert and Jennie McIntyre Davis. He retired from the U.S. Army after 22 years of dedicated service that included a tour of duty in the Korean War. Sgt. 1st Class Davis, retired, was also a faithful member of St. Mark United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Sgt. 1st Class Davis, retired, was predeceased by his loving wife of 41 years, Ella Davis. Survivors include, one daughter, Janet Attaway and her husband, Jay, of Columbus, Ga.; one son, Charles Forlines and his wife, Cathy, of Columbus, Ga.; five grandchildren, five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Chester Davis of Presque Isle, Harold Davis of Caswell and Richard Davis of Missouri; two sisters, Jean Eastler and Shirley Eastler both of Presque Isle; numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside funeral services will be held 10:30 a.m. Friday, June 18, at Fort Mitchell National Cemetery with the Rev. Scott Tucker officiating.
