LIMESTONE – Brendon Lee Jalbert, 69, died unexpectedly June 17, 2010, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born May 23, 1941, in Concord, N.H., the son of Maynard and Dallas (Nyberg) Jalbert. Brendon graduated from Caribou High School, Class of 1959. After graduation he enlisted in the U.S. Army and served for six years, spending some of that time in Korea. During his enlistment he met his lifetime love, Bettina Varsalona, and they married, settling briefly in Connecticut, then moving to Maine, where they remained until his passing. Brendon began a career in office equipment service, but ultimately worked for 20 years at Huber, Inc., Easton, as a machine operator. After he finished working, he spent the remainder of his life quietly at home with Betinna, building and flying model and remote control airplanes, listening to satellite radio, planting trees, walking his special dog, Miranda, and visiting with family. In addition to his wife of nearly 46 years, Brendon is survived by his four loving children: son, Maynard and his wife, Sheriann (Young) of Bangor, daughter, Elena Guyer and her husband, Brent, of Milford, Del., son, Peter and his wife, Michele (Smith), of Newark, Del., and son, Brendon Jr. and his wife, Roselle (Pomfred), of Merrimac, N.H.; 11 grandchildren, Woodie, Lauren, Rebekah, Cynthia, Zachariah, Andrew, Taryn, Emily, Liam, Evan and Sean. He is also survived by his father, Maynard of Presque Isle; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mother, Dallas; his sister, Sharon (Ireland); and his brother, Sheldon. Services will be private at the family’s request and will be conducted by Raul and Diane Zegarra of Highway International Ministries of Carmel.
