BANGOR – H. Harrison Mitchell, 81, died June 21, 2010, at a local health care center. He was born Feb. 26, 1929, in Mount Desert, son of Henry Harrison and Nellie (Richardson) Mitchell. Mitch was employed as a baker at Eastern Maine Medical Center for more than 40 years. He was a passionate collector of coins, stamps and artifacts. For local coin and collectible shops, Mitch was a frequent visitor. He was a past president of Pine Tree Coin Club and the former Penobscot Valley Stamp Club. Many considered Mitch to be a real character, displaying a keen wit and unique sense of humor. Those who knew him will miss his distinctive laughter. His antics at EMMC will be long remembered. Close friends who will miss Mitch are: Cecile Morrill, Carolyn Brennan-Alley, Judy Tanguay, Heidi Shepard, Paul Zebiak, Ray Bradford, Kathy Findlay and the dedicated staff of Westgate Manor. Graveside services will be held at a time, date and place to be announced.
