WINTER HARBOR and BRADENTON, Fla. – John “Jack” Robertson, 71, passed away June 21, 2010, in Winter Harbor. Jack was a graduate of Cumberland High School, Rhode Island, and Johnson and Wales University. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and was in the auto body and trucking business for many years. Born in Lincoln, R.I., he lived in Cumberland, R.I., prior to moving to Winter Harbor and Bradenton, Fla., several years ago. A seasonal resident of Winter Harbor, Jack drove the Island Explorer bus around Schoodic, and most recently was employed at Winter Harbor Marina on Sargent Street. Having spent most of his life living in Rhode Island, Jack would often comment on how he had finally found his place in Winter Harbor. Jack was a true friend to all he met. He will be forever missed by his many friends and his greatest joy, his family. He is survived by his wife, Arlene Robertson; daughter, Lori Carria and her husband, Michael, of Durham, Conn.; sons, John Robertson and his wife, Jean, of San Francisco, and Timothy Robertson and partner, David Allman, of Franklin, Mass.; and four granddaughters, Kate and Emily Carria, and Tess and Hope Robertson. He also leaves his sisters, Dorothy Shey of Lincoln, R.I., and Marilyn Little of Cumberland, R.I. Burial was private.
