BANGOR and CALAIS – Clarence “Bud” Bayliss, 83, passed away June 26, 2010. He was born July 18, 1926, in Calais, the oldest son of Clarence J. and Mae (Stone) Bayliss. Bud was employed for more than 30 years at Georgia-Pacific, Baileyville; was a World War II Navy veteran; served in the Army National Guard, Calais; was a 44-year member of St. Croix Lodge No. 47, Calais; and member of the American Legion, Bangor. In addition to his wife of 61 years, Pat (O’Neill) Bayliss, he is survived by three sons, Kenneth and wife, Candy, of Zephyrhills, Fla., Douglas and wife, JoAnne, of Ashburnham, Mass., and David of Bangor; grandchildren, Michelle Bayliss Zeolla and husband, Anthony, of Avon, Conn., and Douglas Bayliss Jr. of Millbury, Mass.; stepgrandchildren, Kimberly Preston and husband, Chad, of Dedham and Kyle Johnson and Erin Horne of Hermon; great-granddaughters, Olivia and Chelsea Zeolla; stepgrandsons, Jacob Preston, Kyle C. and Kaleb Johnson; a sister, Pat Barnard of Calais; many nieces and nephews. Bud was predeceased by his parents; and a brother, Ralph. Special thanks to Dr. Heineman and St. Joseph Hospice caregivers for their wonderful compassionate care. “Bud’s gone fishing.” At Bud’s request, there will be no funeral service.
