Though lighting up a pot pipe while driving isn’t a good idea, it’s an even worse idea when the driver of the vehicle in the next lane is a police officer.
That was the lesson that two Winterport residents learned Wednesday evening after they were pulled over on Wilson Street by Brewer police Officer Rodney Gerald.
The driver, a 17-year-old male whose name was withheld because of his age, and his passenger, 18-year-old Jennah Dalton, both were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, namely marijuana pipes, Brewer police Sgt. Arden Jones said Wednesday, citing a police report.
Jones said that the 17-year-old also was charged with possession of a usable amount of marijuana because the juvenile had a small amount of the drug in a jar inside the vehicle he was driving. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)

A Brewer man who reported a motor vehicle break-in early Tuesday afternoon was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after Brewer police found a marijuana pipe in his pickup while gathering evidence from it.
Brewer police Sgt. Arden Jones said Wednesday that Todd Dean, 21, of Brewer was summoned after Officer Stephen Boyd found a maroon zippered pouch in the console of Dean’s truck that held the pipe.
Jones said that Dean told police that two handguns and a shotgun were missing from his truck, which Dean said had been locked. Jones said police weren’t able to find signs of forced entry. (Dawn Gagnon, BDN)
