BREWER – Joan A. Cambridge, 80, died Saturday, July 3, 2010, at a Bangor hospital. She was born April 21, 1930, in Washburn, daughter of Carol and Bessie (Lacey) Wilder. Joan grew up in Washburn and was a graduate of Washburn High School. She enjoyed a 28-year career as a special assistant to the president of the University of Maine. Joan was an active member of Columbia Street Baptist Church. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, Lloyd Cambridge; sons, Thomas Cambridge of Bangor and Richard Cambridge of Corinth; grandchildren, Jessica, Adam, Annie and Ben; one-great-grandchild, Isabella; many nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to her parents, Joan was predeceased by her daughter, Debbie Flewelling; brother, Harold Wilder; and sister, Carolyn Kelley. A celebration of Joan’s life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, July 9, at Colombia Street Baptist Church, 63 Colombia St., Bangor, with the Rev. Peter Sprague officiating. After the service, Joan’s family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments in the church hall.
