RALEIGH, N.C. – Kathleen May Forsythe, “May,” 84, died June 2, 2010. She was an Irish immigrant born in Canada en route to the U.S. She was raised in North Andover, Mass., by William and Bridget Cunningham, with one older brother, John, and two younger brothers, James and Robert. She earned her nursing degree through the Army Reserve service during World War II and worked at Hale Hospital, Haverhill, Mass., until she married Edwin William Forsythe at 35. She then moved to Veazie, where she raised two sons, Eric William and Thomas “Tom” James. She spent her last 10 years in Raleigh, N.C., where Edwin Forsythe died in 2007. She is survived by her younger brother, Bob Cunningham and wife, Rita, and their children, grandchildren and great-grandchild; her son, Eric and wife, Michele, and three granddaughters, Erin, Naomi and Kailyn; and her son, Tom and wife, Elizabeth, and grandson, McCoy. Services will be held 10:30 a.m. July 9 at St. Raphael’s, Raleigh, N.C.
