SOUTHWEST HARBOR and ORLANDO, Fla. – Verna “Susan” Lewis Duffus died Dec. 27, 2009, at an Orlando, Fla., health care facility. She was the daughter of the late Eudora (Kane) Lewis and Fred Lewis of Southwest Harbor. She is survived by her husband, William Duffus of Newport and Orlando, Fla.; a brother, Carey Lewis of Southwest Harbor; a sister, Anita Beebe of South Dennis, Mass.; several nieces and nephews; and beloved friends, William and Shirley Soukup of Southwest Harbor. Shirley was a childhood friend of Susan’s daughter, Cynthia, and was thought of as a “second daughter.” She is also survived by Frank Albee Jr. of East Orland, who was married to Cynthia. Susan was predeceased by her beloved daughter, Cynthia Walters Albee; her first husband, Robert Walters of Coral, Pa.; and her brother, Walter Lewis of Manset. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. July 17 at Mount Height Cemetery, Southwest Harbor, with the Rev. Wayne Buchanan officiating. Condolences may be expressed at www.jordanfernald.com.
