DOVER-FOXCROFT – The Rev. Marguerite M. Dowling, 86, went to be with the Lord July 10, 2010, at a local hospital. She was born Feb. 16, 1924, in Bangor, the second child of Harold L. and E. Annie (Taylor) Robinson. Marguerite graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1942. She was employed for many years in restaurant management in Connecticut, Massachusetts and New Hampshire. After returning to Maine in the early-1950s, Marguerite was a longtime pianist, soloist and Sunday school teacher at Assembly of God Church, Dover-Foxcroft. She had been married to Austin M. Dowling Sr., who was the father of their children. In May 1992, Marguerite was ordained into the ministry with McCurdy Ministries, Joplin, Mo., and was actively involved in personal ministry. Marguerite is survived by her two sons, Austin M. Dowling Jr. and his wife, Sandra, of Virginia and Albert M. Dowling and his wife, Lisa, of Dover-Foxcroft; three stepdaughters, Joyce Stanley of Bar Harbor, Linda Comeau of New Hampshire and Bernice Faloon of Orono; four grandchildren, Amy of New Jersey, Scott of New Hampshire, Sarah of Tennessee and Jason of Kansas; a brother, Charles A. Robinson of Florida; many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to the father of her children, Marguerite was predeceased by her sister, Dorothy Frantzen. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Monday, July 12, at Lary Funeral Home, Dover-Foxcroft, where a funeral service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 13, with the Rev. Tom Bruce officiating. Burial will be in the family lot at Mount Hope Cemetery, Bangor.
