SEARSPORT — Dylan Keller scored the tying run on an Evan Kingsbury sacrifice fly in the seventh and Derrick Bernosky scored the winner on a throwing error to give the Steamboat Paddlers a 15-14 American Legion baseball victory over the Acadians in Monday’s first makeup game.
The Acadians scored four seventh-inning runs to claim the second game 10-7.
Steamboat’s Devon Young hit four home runs, two in each game, during the twinbill.
In the first game, Tyler Prescott hit a fourth-inning grand slam for the Paddlers. Josiah Brazier had a single, double and home run for two RBIs. Keller hit a single and a first-inning two-run homer. Bernosky singled three times and Rocky Faunce added a double, single and two RBIs.
Young had a single and two home runs with four RBIs to pace the Acadians. Mike Crowley and Nick Saunders both had a double, single and two RBIs. Andy Hodge hit three singles and Jordan Carter doubled and singled with one RBI.
In the nightcap, Cam Lawson hit a one-out RBI single and Young followed with a three-run homer to cap a four-run seventh to lift the Acadians. Young added another homer, for four on the day, and a single with five RBIs. Peter Dickinson doubled and singled with two RBIs.
Cody Ward hit two singles and a third-inning three-run homer to pace Steamboat. Keller hit a two-run homer, Evan Kingsbury hit a two-run double and Rocky Faunce hit two singles.
