PENOBSCOT – Charles A. Curtis, 60, made his transition from his limited Earthly body to his etheric body July 13, 2010. He was born Oct. 16, 1949, in Castine. He enjoyed his life with family and friends, and his beagles and coon dogs. He was proud of his hunting trophies from around the state and Canada. He was an avid fisherman. He laughed a lot – even after his stroke at age 44 that left him at the kind care of many caregivers. His family thanks them all, especially a few that he had a special bond with when he was at Penobscot Nursing Home for so many years. He was predeceased by his father, Leland; and mother, Hazel. He will be missed by brother; Donald and sister-in-law, Ginny, and their large family; sister, Tiffany Horton and brother-in-law, James; many friends and other relatives. He is at peace. A graveside service will be held 3 p.m. Sunday, July 18, at Castine Cemetery, Castine. Arrangements are under the direction of Mitchell-Tweedie Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 28 Elm St., Bucksport.
