BRISTOL, Conn. – Carlton E. Rumery, 72, passed away July 13, 2010, in Bristol, Conn. Carlton was born April 10, 1938, in Dexter, son of Floyd I. and Katherine (Leo) Rumery. He had worked as a machinist for the past 46 years, and will be remembered as being a proud, hardworking man who was a good provider for his family. Carlton enjoyed watching NASCAR, the Boston Red Sox and spending Saturday’s at Mohegan Sun Casino in Connecticut, playing slots or purchasing scratch off tickets. Carlton was predeceased by his son, Leo Gene. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Carolyn (Nichols) Rumery of Bristol, Conn.; son, George Rumery and wife, Marti, of Bristol, Conn.; son, Dale Rumery and wife, Michele, of Plantsville, Conn.; daughter, Patricia St. Amand and boyfriend, Michael Caminiti, of Bristol, Conn.; son, Scott Rumery and wife, Bronwyn, of Jasper, Ga.; sister, Katrina Bohan of Dexter; 10 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. He will be remembered by a lifelong friend who was like a brother to him, Robert Moore of Dover-Foxcroft. Friends are invited to call 6-8 p.m. Friday, July 16, and 10 a.m. Saturday, July 17, at Lary Funeral Home, Milo. Interment will be after visitation Saturday at Evergreen Cemetery, Milo.
