PORT CHARLOTTE, Fla. – Joyce E. Braithwaite, 80, formerly of Gas City, Ind., passed away Sunday, July 4, 2010, in Bradenton, Fla. Joyce was born June 15, 1930, in Houlton, to the late Harold and Helen (Green) Connors. A retired administrative assistant for Mississinewa Public School System in Indiana, Joyce moved to Port Charlotte, Fla., in 1984, and was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Port Charlotte, Fla. She is survived by one son, Harold Bruce Braithwaite and wife, Linda, of Bradenton, Fla.; one brother, Charles Connors and wife, Ethel, of Port Charlotte, Fla.; two nieces; and numerous extended family members. Joyce was predeceased by her beloved husband of 58 years, Richard E. “Rick” Braithwaite, in October 2009. A memorial service celebrating Joyce’s life will be held in late September at St. James Episcopal Church, Port Charlotte, Fla. A date will be announced.
