PORTLAND — Police are awaiting a fingerprint comparison to confirm the identity of a man shot to death over the weekend.
Portland police say they were called to an apartment complex in the city’s North Deering neighborhood where they found the victim at about 3:40 a.m. Sunday.
Police asked Monday for help from the public.
Police believe the victim was a 22-year-old man who was originally from New York, but they have not released his name.
Amy Hua, who lives nearby, told WGME-TV that the victim came into her apartment seeking help and died on a bed. Witnesses reported seeing two people flee the building.
