PORTLAND, Maine — Police in Maine’s largest city have identified the man who was shot to death over the weekend.
Portland police say the victim in Sunday’s shooting was 22-year-old Taquan Samuels of New York City. The medical examiner’s office has determined Samuels died from a gunshot wound to the chest.
Police say the shooting happened early Sunday in an apartment complex in the city’s North Deering neighborhood.
Witnesses reported seeing two people flee the building. A woman who lives in the complex says the victim came into her apartment seeking help and died on a bed.
