HOULTON – Bessie Edwards Putnam Wright, 92, died July 27, 2010, at a local health care facility. She was born Sept. 17, 1917, in Cary, the daughter of Alexander and Maude (Potter) Edwards. Bessie was a member of Cary Baptist Church. She spent most of her life being a homemaker, taking care of her family and enjoying her children and grandchildren. Bessie is survived by her son, Orrin Putnam and his wife, Lori, of Monticello; her daughter, Linda Ingraham and her husband, Charles, of Cary; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, several special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her first husband, Clayton Putnam; second husband, George Wright; four sisters and two brothers. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday at Dunn Funeral Home with the Rev. Peter Valji officiating. Friends may call 11 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will be at Cary Community Cemetery, Wilcox.
