MILBRIDGE – Annabelle “Annie” Strout, 91, wife of the late Everett B. Strout, died July 30, 2010, at a Machias hospital. She was born Nov. 28, 1918, in Columbia, daughter of Eugene and Matilda (Hartford) Kelley. Annie was a member of Order of the Eastern Star of Milbridge for more than 50 years; Thursday Club; and First Congregational Church, Milbridge. Her fondest memories were of growing up in the Webb District and summers at Pigeon Hill. She is survived by two children, Rebecca and her husband, Dennis Young, of Augusta and Walter Strout of Milbridge; six grandchildren, Joseph, Brian and Daniel Strout, Charles Young, Amy Kemp and Catherine Young; eight great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins, including a special niece, Evelyn Walker. Annie was the last surviving sibling of 13 brothers and sisters. In addition to her husband, parents, brothers and sisters, she was predeceased by one son, Everett E. Strout. The family thanks the staff at Mountain Vista Assisted Living and The Grace Home for their loving care of Annie. A graveside service will be celebrated 2 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Evergreen Cemetery, Milbridge. Donations in her memory may be sent to Petit Manan Ambulance Service, Milbridge.
