FORT KENT – Cora (Robichaud) Daigle, 82, died July 30, 2010, at a Fort Kent health care facility. She was born May 25, 1928, in Fort Kent, daughter of Alphonse and Regina (Boutot) Robichaud. Cora, a meticulous homemaker, was devoted to her husband of 62 years and provided a nurturing environment for their three children. She was an extraordinary cook, skilled in the art of preparing Franco-American recipes learned at her mother’s elbow during her youth. She was eager to share her baking creations, not only with family and friends, but also with shut-ins throughout the community. As a pastime she enjoyed playing cards, especially cribbage, and loved taking short trips throughout Maine and bordering Canadian provinces. Cora leaves her husband, William “Bill” Daigle and family, Robert and Brenda Daigle of Rockport, Regina and Donald Murray of Wallagrass and Russell and Tina Daigle of Temple, Texas; and three sisters, Therese Daigle of Wakefield, R.I., Gloria Chadwick of Fort Kent and Maxine Barton of Aiken, S.C. Her grandchildren, Justin, Erin, Jack, Tristen and Taran will miss her caring smile and encouraging nature. She also leaves three great-grandchildren, Patrick, Ian and Phoebe, who she showered with affection at every opportunity. Cora will be missed by those she left behind, but she will live forever in the hearts of all who loved her. Friends may call 8 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday, Aug. 3, at Daigle Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Louis Catholic Church, Fort Kent. Committal services will be held at a later date. Donations in her memory may be made to Forest Hill Manor, 25 Bolduc Ave., Fort Kent, ME 04743. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
