CALAIS – Barbara Mae Sabattus, 84, died Aug. 2, 2010, at an Eastport nursing home. She was born May 2, 1926, in Lyndonville, Vt., daughter of Eva Hartwell. She was a beautician in Calais for 50 years. Barb was a social person, enjoying cooking for her family and friends. She was a communicant of Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Calais. Barbara was predeceased by her husband, Leonard, in 2000. Surviving are her daughter, Kelly Ketchen and her husband, Timothy; two beloved grandchildren, Jacob and Joshua, all of Cathance Lake – Cooper; two sisters-in-law, Betty Moreside of Calais and Carolyn Sabattus of Brewer; a special nephew, Rodney Sabattus and his wife, Robin, of Waterville; several other nieces and nephews. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 6, at Immaculate Conception Roman Catholic Church, Calais. Burial will be at Calais Cemetery.
