Three artists are opening exhibits at the Dowling Walsh Gallery in Rockland Friday.
Richard Vickerson of Prince Edward Island will be displaying watercolor paintings on paper — sharp, photo-like landscapes with farm animals and country houses.
James Dodds of Essex, England, paints in oil on linen and canvas. For Dodds, a former apprentice shipwright, the focus is boats. “Stern of a Lifeboat,” “North Norfolk Crab Boat,” and “Building a Grand Lake Canoe” are only a few of the detailed paintings in the collection.
Stephen Hodecker of New Hampshire creates art in several media: egg tempera, oil, watercolor and pastel. He focuses on rural New England landscapes and seascapes.
The opening reception for both artists will be from 5-8 p.m.
