VAN BUREN – Lawrence Cormier, 80, died unexpectedly Aug. 4, 2010, at his Main Street residence. He was born July 15, 1930, in Cyr Plantation, the son of Francis and Marie (Gagnon) Cormier. He was employed as a heavy equipment operator for many years. Lawrence was a member of Van Buren Fire Department for many years. He is survived by two daughters, Diane Pfile and husband, Ron, of Lowell, Ohio, and Carline Sawyer and husband, John, of Sumter, S.C.; seven sons, Clarence Cormier and wife, Nancy, of Standish, Donald Cormier and wife, Joan, of Waterville, Richard Cormier and wife, Kathy, of Harrison, Mike Cormier and wife, Nora, of Casco, Steven Cormier of Saco, Norman Cormier and wife, Donna, of Oakland, and Tim Cormier of Worcester, Mass.; 17 grandchildren, Jason, Aaron, Amanda, Brian, Alex, Andrew, Kyle, Hope, Jonathan, Samantha, Ryan and Nick Cormier, Jennifer Domegan, Daniel and Patrick Pfile, David Parks and William Sawyer; 13 great-grandchildren, Aidan, Sebastian, Tristan, Lynmarie, Holly, Hudson and Sage Cormier, Jake and Allie Domegan, Abigail and Ezry Pfile, Jackson and Ethan Sawyer; many nieces and nephews. Lawrence was predeceased by his wife, Juliette (Clavette) Cormier, in 1999; and by an infant son, Ronney. Relatives and friends may call 10 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Saturday at Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren. A funeral Mass will be celebrated 1 p.m. Saturday at St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Committal service and interment will be in the parish cemetery.
