EASTBROOK – Sarah “Sally” Haslam died Aug. 4, 2010, with her family by her side at a Bangor hospital. She was born May 18, 1941, in Mariaville, the daughter of Roland A. and Phyllis A. (Frost) Edgecomb. Sally will be fondly remembered for her many years as a hairdresser in the local area. Her life revolved around her family; she especially enjoyed her grandchildren. She loved gardening, snowmobiling and camping with family and friends. She is survived by her beloved husband of 49 years, Wayne of Eastbrook; son, Jeffrey Haslam and wife, Claudette, of Brockway, New Brunswick; daughter, Becky Lane and husband, Brian, of Eastbrook; and “other” daughter, Pye Haslam and “our” Matthew McDevitt. Sally leaves behind 10 adored grandchildren, Brian, Scott, Brandon, Sara, Sabrina, Rachel and her mother, Jane, Jenna, Emily, Avery and Devon; brothers, Arthur Edgecomb of Ellsworth and Gerald Edgecomb of Mariaville; half sister, Lisa Colbeth of Mariaville; many special nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her beloved son, Timothy, in 2003; and brother, Malcolm “Friday” Edgecomb. Calling hours will be held 3-6 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 8, at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 9.
