FREEPORT, Maine — A state lawmaker from Maine has been charged with drunken driving following a crash in which his car rolled over on I-295 in Freeport.
State police say 25-year-old Sean Flaherty was arrested and charged with operating under the influence early Sunday. The Democrat is serving in his first term in the Maine House of Representatives and is a member of the Utilities and Energy Committee.
WGME-TV says Flaherty, who represents Scarborough in the Maine House, initially refused to submit to a blood test but later consented.
Flaherty said he’d be issuing a statement on Tuesday.
