MILLINOCKET – Kenneth E. Mattall, 81, died Saturday, Aug. 14, 2010, at a Millinocket hospital. He was born Oct. 16, 1928, in Millinocket, son of Eugene A. and Lillian M. (Cyr) Mattall. Kenny was a World War II veteran of the Navy, where he served on the USS Midway. He worked for Great Northern Paper Co., Millinocket, for many years, retiring in 1987 with 41 years of service. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved a good ride. Kenny also loved spending time with his family. He is survived by four daughters, Marie Caron and her husband, Gerry Caron Jr., of East Millinocket, Nancy Streams and her husband, David, of Millinocket, Carole Philbrook and her husband, Will, of Millinocket and Bev MacLeod and her husband, John, of East Millinocket; eight grandchildren, Gerry Caron III and his wife, Nadia, Barbara Streams, Corey Streams and his wife, Irma, Scott Richards and his wife, Shani, Kelly Oufiero and her husband, Joe, Julie Philbrook, Kayla MacLeod and Courtney MacLeod; 10 great-grandchildren, Mallory Bourgoin, Carter Bourgoin, Sara Caron, Gerald Caron IV, Cody Richards, Dylan Richards, Noah Oufiero, Isaiah Oufiero, Emilyn Streams and Cabryn Streams; three siblings-in-law, Mary Guimond, Leona Osborne and Paul Blanchette; several special nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to his parents, Kenny was predeceased by his wife, Rita M. (Blanchette) Mattall; and five siblings, Robert Mattall, Lawrence Mattall, Velma LaPorte, Jeanann Burleigh and infant brother, Gordon Mattall. Graveside services with military honors will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Aug. 18, at Millinocket Cemetery.
