DRESDEN, Maine — The Department of Inland Fisheries and Wildlife has identified the ATV rider injured in an accident off a private road Wednesday night.
Michael Murphy, 42, of Mashpee, Mass., was critically injured when he hit a tree on his four-wheeler. He was not wearing a helmet.
Murphy is in critical condition at Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston.
The accident happened about 7 p.m. on Hunter Road, a private road off Route 197, according to Maine Warden Service Sgt. Terry Hughes. Murphy was flown by LifeFlight to CMMC.
The incident is still under investigation.
