PALACIOUS, Texas, and OLD TOWN – Rowena “Rene” Sharp, formerly of Old Town, died May 23, 2010, in Bay City, Texas. She was born Dec. 17, 1919, in Danforth, and lived in Old Town until 2006. Mrs. Sharp was predeceased by her husband, Matthew Sharp; her parents, Ben and Gusta McLaughlin; and eight brothers and sisters. She is survived by two sons, Robert Sharp and wife, Elizabeth, of Marlow, N.H., and Bruce Sharp and wife, Sharon, of Palacious, Texas; four grandchildren, Kelli Cotton and husband, Bill, Kristi Sharp, Beth Sharp and Tom Rogers; and two great-grandchildren, Antonio and Emily. A memorial service was held May 28 in Bay City, Texas. Mrs. Sharp will be buried on a date to be determined at Woodlawn Cemetery, Stillwater Avenue, Old Town.
