CARIBOU — Chad Caverhill scored the eventual winning goal with 28:51 left in regulation Friday to lead Caribou to a 2-1 boys soccer victory over Madawaska.
Ben Blackstone scored the first goal with 25:43 left in the first half for the 1-0 Vikings. Garrett Jordan stopped six of 14 shots.
Dylan Wetmore tied it at 1-1 off an Ian Lee assist with 30:49 left in the second half for 1-1 Madawaska. Tim Deschenes made 10 saves off 15 shots.

Van Buren 4, LCS/MSSM 1
At Van Buren, A.J. Edgecomb netted two goals in leading Van Buren past Limestone Community School/Maine School of Science and Mathematics.
Caleb Roy and Connor Lapierre also scored for the 1-2 Crusaders. Mark Levasseur assisted Edgecomb’s second goal.
Josh Forsman scored in the first half for the 0-1 Eagles.
Marc Lajoie saved nine of 10 shots for Van Buren while Chris Bernard made 10 saves off 20 shots for the Eagles.
Cen. Aroostook 4, Washburn 3
At Washburn, Brandon Anthony scored with 1:12 remaining to break the 3-3 tie to cap a Central Aroostook of Mars Hill rally over Washburn.
The Panthers trailed 3-1 at half.
Anthony also scored the tying goal in the second half for the 3-0 Panthers. Daniel Brewer scored two goals with the second off an Anthony assist. Ross Grass saved 12 of 19 shots.
Jordan McLaughlin scored two goals and assisted the other for the 1-1 Beavers. Justin Farley scored the other goal while Mitch Worcester provided two assists. Zach Davis turned away nine of 13 shots.
So. Aroostook 4, Easton 3
At Easton, Patrick Goodall scored two goals as Southern Aroostook built a 3-0 halftime lead en route to a season-opening victory.
Anthony Diaferio and Robert Rockwell also scored for the Warriors.
Reid Clark and Holden Turner each had a goal and an assist for 0-4 Easton, while Ian Sotomayor also scored for the Bears.
Southern Aroostook goalie Jesse Boulier made eight saves on 12 shots, while Cody Tompkins made 14 saves on 21 shots for Easton.
