EMBDEN – Brainard and Charlotte Tripp celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary Aug. 7, 2010, with a bus tour of Nova Scotia, Canada, and New Brunswick, Canada. They were married on Aug. 7, 1965, by the Rev. Aubrey Burbank at Centenary Methodist Church in Skowhegan. Brainard worked as a teacher and principal in Bangor and Hampden schools, retiring in 1997. Charlotte worked as a primary education teacher in Bangor for 36 years, retiring in 2001. They have lived at Embden Pond for the past nine years. They have one daughter, Tamara Howes and her husband, James, and two grandchildren, Megan and Andrew Howes of Hermon.
