REDONDO BEACH, Calif. – Terry Stoddard received her angel wings from God when she passed away Monday, Aug. 23, 2010, surrounded by her family at her home, and blessed with frequent visits from many, many friends in her final days with us. Born in Madawaska to Eric and Evelyn St. Amant, Terry was the oldest of six children. She moved to Redondo Beach, Calif., in 1953 with her husband, Earlen “Chuck” Stoddard, and raised six children. Searching for just the right Catholic church, she was rewarded to find St. Catherine Laboure, Torrance, Calif., where she made hundreds of lifelong friends and touched the lives of many more. In addition to being a grammar school teacher at St. Catherine Laboure and a frequent lector during Mass, Terry taught Bible study, led the Divorced/ Separated/Widowed Support Group, was a Stephen minister, a Eucharistic minister for the sick, and helped coordinate the Senior Citizen’s Social Group. She also volunteered for Readings for the Blind for many years. With such a life rich with activity, she was never without time for her children, Chuck, Dana and wife, Adrienne, Eric and wife, Kathy, Jon, Paula and David; as well as her grandchildren, Erica and Brianna. Services will be held 10 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, at St. Catherine Laboure, 3846 Redondo Beach Blvd., Torrance, Calif., with a reception after in the church hall.
