CLINTON, Md. – Edward G. Bouchard, 71, chief master sergeant, U.S. Air Force, retired, died Monday, Aug. 23, 2010. He was born Feb. 16, 1939, in Millinocket, to Ludger V. and Annie M. (Trott) Bouchard. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force until Dec. 31, 1987, retiring after 30 years and two months of honorable service to his country. During his years of Air Force service, Chief Bouchard’s assignments included several stateside and overseas assignments, where he was awarded several awards and decorations, including the Meritorious Service Medal with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Force Commendation Medal with three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Outstanding Unit Award with two Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Force Good Conduct Medal with seven Oak Leaf Clusters, the National Defense Services Medal, the Air Force Overseas Ribbon – Short Tour and Air Force Overseas Ribbon – Long Tour, the Air Force Longevity Service Award with six Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, U.S. Air Force NCO Academy Graduate Ribbon, and the Small Arms Expert Marksmanship Ribbon. After retiring from the Air Force, Chief Bouchard worked for Malcolm Grown U.S. Air Force Medical Center, Joint Base Andrews, Md., as assistant facilities manager, and retired after 14 years. He leaves to cherish his everlasting memory, a loving and devoted wife of 43 years, Heidi Bouchard; his mother, Annie Bouchard of Millinocket; his brother, Richard and Eileen Bouchard; three sisters, Sharon Picard, Linda and Jeffrey Neal, and Beverly and John Montgomery; numerous nieces and nephews, and many special friends around the world. He is greatly missed already! In appreciation, Mrs. Heidi Bouchard extends her profound and sincere appreciation for the many expressions of kindness shown during this time of bereavement. A special thank you to the medical staff of Walter Reed Army Medical Center, Malcolm Grow Medical Center, and all care providers for their kindness, gentle care, and tireless efforts for her loved one during his illness.
