OLD TOWN – Joanne M. Lavoie, 49, went home to her Lord and Savior Aug. 27, 2010, at her home that she loved so much. Joanne was born Feb. 9, 1961, in Bloomfield, Conn., daughter of Patrick and Charlotte (Giguere) Beaulieu Demers. Her family moved to Lewiston when she was 13. She attended Lewiston schools and was employed by Marcotte Nursing Home until she met the love of her life, Jim. Joanne was employed by L.L.Bean and was a cheerleader for the company wherever she went. She loved to shop at L.L.Bean and the employee store. Jim and Joanne were married in 1984 and moved to Bradley and then to their home in Old Town. Joanne loved her family and was so proud of her two boys, Christopher and Joseph. Joanne’s love of photography, cooking and baking will be missed by all. She is survived by her beloved husband, James; her loving sons, Christopher and Joseph; her sister, Jeanne Waning and her husband, Urban; her brother, Philippe Beaulieu; her mother-in-law, Annette Lavoie; her extended family, Thomas, Adele and Lottie Beaulieu of Germany, Ronald and Marge Lavoie, Robert and Marie Martin, Paul and Pam McManus, Gerald and Susan Tuholski, Gary and Pattie Sirois, and Janet Lavoie; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousin. She will also be sadly missed by her lifelong friend, Kathy Noddin. Joanne was predeceased by her parents; and her father-in-law, Alban Lavoie. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 6-8 p.m. Monday, Aug. 30, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday, Aug. 31, at Old Town United Methodist Church, 744 Stillwater Ave., Old Town, with the Rev. Joan DeSanctis, officiating. Internment will be afterward at Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town. After services family and friends are invited to a light luncheon at the church hall.
