ST. AGATHA – Norman Chamberland, 71, died Aug. 26, 2010, surrounded by his family at a Bangor hospital, after a brief battle with cancer. He was born March 5, 1939, the son of George Emile and Maria “Pelletier” Chamberland. He was an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding his ATV and snowmobile, and was a member of third degree Knights of Columbus, St. Agatha. He retired from Fraser Paper after 34 years of service. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Muriel (Levesque) Chamberland; three sons, Maurice and Kris of Georgia, Larry of Frenchville and Joel and Brenda of St. Agatha; two daughters, Linda and Will of New Hampshire and Lisa of Maryland; six grandchildren, Courtney, Ryan, Jory, Mindy, Tyler and Cody; several nieces and nephews; two brothers, Romeo and Maurice; and four sisters, Joan, Fernande, Cecile and Jeanine and her husband, Mike Dube. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, George Emile Jr., Norbert and Clarence; and one sister, Theresa Guerrette. Friends and relatives may give their condolences to the family 9:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 2, at Our Lady of the Valley Church, St. Agatha, where a Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. with the Rev. Clement Thibodeau officiating. For those who desire, donations may be made to the Edgar Paradis Cancer Fund. Envelopes will be available at the church.
