LAKELAND, Fla. – Wayne N. Allen passed away Aug. 27, 2010, at his residence. He was born Feb. 17, 1930, in Lincoln, Neb., the son of Harley and Meta (Nelson) Allen. Wayne served in the U.S. Air Force for 22 years, including the Korean and Vietnam wars. He resided in Bangor for many years before moving to Florida. He is survived by his beloved wife, Harriett Pushee Allen of Lakeland, Fla.; sons, Steve and his fiancee, Isabelle Yokana, of Biddeford Pool and Gregg and his wife, Marcey McHatten, of Scarborough; granddaughter, Morgan Allen of Cumberland; sister, Janice and husband, Dick Marlof, of Peoria, Ariz.; sisters-in-law, Phyllis Allen of Imperial, Neb., Martha Allen of Norris, Tenn., and Patricia Pushee of Granby, Mass.; several nieces and nephews. He had an incredible sense of humor, enjoyed telling jokes and loved his cats, Arrow and Bo. Private services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 1, at Florida National Cemetery, Bushnell, Fla.
