At a “listening session” in Bangor last week as part of the Obama administration’s America’s Great Outdoor Initiative the idea of a North Woods National Park was
revived. Will this concept ever come to fruition? Is there a way a large swath of the undeveloped part of the North Woods could be protected yet still provide fiber for paper mills? Would some version of a park be an economic savior for that part of the state or a
death certificate?
