BANGOR – Troy A. Higgins, 35, died unexpectedly Sept. 5, 2010, at his home. He was born Jan. 4, 1975, in Oceanside, N.Y., son of Michael G. and M. Elaine (Mitchell) Higgins. Troy attended St. John’s Catholic School and graduated from Bangor High School in 1993. He loved music and was a musician, playing guitar in a band. He also worked in construction and worked for a radio station in Tampa, Fla., where he was Cheech on the “Bubba the Love Sponge Show.” Surviving are his mother, Elaine Higgins and her husband, Alan Kaplansky, of Viera, Fla.; his father, Michael Higgins and his wife, Linda, of Murfreesboro, Tenn.; sisters, Rita York of Viera, Fla., Dorothy Green of Sanford, Catlin Russo of Tampa, Fla., and Krissy Maniscalco of North Carolina; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Family and friends may visit 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 9, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 299 Union St., Bangor, where a service honoring and celebrating Troy’s life will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 10.
