MAPLETON and ASHLAND – Darcy R. Pinette, 28, died peacefully Sept. 16, 2010, at her Mapleton home, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Oct. 27, 1981, in Presque Isle, the daughter of Timothy and Brenda (Avery) Pinette. Darcy was a 2000 graduate of Ashland High School. She was a wonderful and loving mother, who enjoyed watching her sons play hockey and participate in Cub Scout events. She loved spending time with her boys and family at barbecues and family gatherings. Her beautiful smile brightened everyone’s day. Darcy is survived by her two sons, Caleb Lagasse and Chandler Lagasse of Mapleton; her mother and stepfather, Brenda and Greg Pinette of Ashland; her father, Timothy Pinette of Portage Lake; her brother, Tim “TJ” Pinette and his wife, Heather, of Chapman; her sister, Heather Pinette of Chapman; paternal grandparents, Reginald and Rachel Pinette of Portage Lake; her nephew and niece, Riley Pinette and Cassidy Pinette, both of Chapman; and special aunts and uncles, Merlene and Ray Saucier of Brewer and Tammy and Steve O’Clair of Ashland. She will also be missed by several cousins, aunts, uncles and friends. She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Gerald and Tina Avery. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday at Stimson-Ouellette Funeral Home, 114 Exchange St., Ashland. A funeral service will be held 1 p.m. Tuesday at Advent Christian Church, Exchange Street, Ashland, with the Rev. Donald Morton Jr. officiating. Committal service and interment will be at Our Lady of the Snows Cemetery, in the Frenchville section of Ashland.
