HOULTON – Harold Lee Bossie, 92, died Sept. 21, 2010, at a local hospital. He was born Sept. 20, 1918, in Fort Kent, the son of Arthur and Modeste (Morneault) Bossie. In his younger days, Hal played on Houlton Collegians Baseball teams. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II and was employed for 40 years with Dunn Furniture Co., starting out as their operations manager and retiring as an accomplished sales consultant. He was a member of Church of the Good Shepherd – Episcopal, member and past president of Houlton Rotary Club, and member and past exalted ruler of Houlton Lodge of Elks. Hal served on Houlton Parks and Recreation Committee for 10 years, and on Houlton Credit Union Board of Trustees. Hal is survived by his wife, Shirley (Hall) Bossie of Houlton; two sons, David Bossie and his wife, Mia, of Ben Lomond, Calif., and Jeffrey Bossie and his wife, Heidi Nelson, of East Machias; five grandchildren, Craig Bossie of Westbrook, Grace Nelson of Marshfield, Waylon Nelson of Philadelphia, Greg Bossie of Bonny Doon, Calif., and Michelle Bossie of Santa Cruz, Calif.; two great-grandchildren; and special nephew, Gary Bossie and his wife, Alison, of New Limerick. He was predeceased by his brother, Kenneth Bossie. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday at Dunn Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Good Shepherd – Episcopal, with the Rev. Leslie Nesin officiating.
