WESTBROOK – Vina M. Michaud, 91, formerly of Millinocket, died Sept. 20, 2010, at her home. Vina was born May 26, 1919, in Millinocket, daughter of John and Mary Cormier Raymond. She graduated salutatorian of her class at Stearns High School. Vina retired after 37 years working as an executive secretary at Great Northern Paper, and after this retirement she cared for her grandchildren for almost 30 years. In addition to her mother and father, she was predeceased by her husband, Donald Michaud, in 1977. Vina is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Sweatt of Westbrook; her sister-in-law, Carlene Michaud of East Millinocket; her former son-in-law, Spencer Sweatt and Connie Myers of Massachusetts; special cousin, David Michaud and his wife, Joan, of East Millinocket; and two grandchildren, Shawn Sweatt and wife, Heather, of Connecticut, and Kevin and his companion, Amy Getchell, of Massachusetts. A memorial Mass will be celebrated 11 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, at St. Peter’s Church, East Millinocket, with interment at East Millinocket Cemetery. Arrangements are under the guidance of Independent Death Care, 660 Brighton Ave., Portland, with assistance from Lamson Funeral Home, East Millinocket.
