ORIENT – Earle T. Peabody, 76, died Sept. 22, 2010, surrounded by his family at a local hospital. He was born Nov. 5, 1933, in Houlton, the son of Harold A. and Virginia (Cathlene) Peabody. Earle was a life long area farmer and carpenter. He was a past member of Houlton Lodge of Elks and a lifetime member of Elks National Foundation. Earle enjoyed spending time with his family at Grand Lake, a good game of cribbage and his John Deere tractor. Earle is survived by his wife, E. Marie (McPherson) Peabody of Orient; his son, David Peabody and his wife, Diana; his daughter, Cheryl Welton and her husband, Rick, all of Linneus; two grandchildren, Brandy Reeves and her husband, Reggie, of Ludlow and John Peabody and his wife, Leah, of Glenburn; four great-grandchildren, Joshua, Brianna, Alexa and Isaac; two brothers, Herman Peabody and his wife, Kate, of Lincoln and Ervin Peabody and his wife, Elaine, of Bristol, Conn.; two sisters, Joyce Mitchell and her husband, Roger, of Westbrook and Pam Peabody of Arizona; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents; his stepmother, Ruth (Crane) Peabody; and his brother, Donald Peabody. Graveside service will be held 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Evergreen Cemetery with the Rev.
